Samson sinned and would soon pay the consequences

Samson sinned and would soon pay the consequences for his sin. But the Bible says that his actions were “of the Lord.” Not because it was fine to sin in this case or because that was God’s will for Samson, but because God in His sovereignty is able to use our wrong choices to work out His perfect plan. This does not lighten the gravity of sinning. It does however reassure us that God’s mercy is beyond comprehension and that He can turn even our sins into consequences that will glorify Him. God’s mercy is amazing!

The Jews forfeited God's presence when they lost

The Jews forfeited God’s presence when they lost their sanctity. They essentially became useless to God, as God cannot tolerate sin. It’s the same story today, although as believers we are being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. As such we will not lose God’s presence in our lives. However, we can cease to be useful to Him though our sin, and that is as tragic as the story of Achan.
