God’s Provision

Hello friends, I trust God is making your work fruitful as you serve Him wherever you are. This morning as I read I was reminded again to expect God’s blessings in abundance if I will only stay faithful to His will (Numbers 10:29-32). So I trust each of you is also enjoying His blessings as you live out the Great Commission locally.

God has certainly been at work here, and a lot has happened in these past few months. In January, we began a large work project in church. The Irun church has continued to grow throughout recent years, and for quite a while now we have been very pressed for space in the church auditorium. So we have decided to do a major overhaul of the church building. We will be relocating our auditorium to a different section of the building. This requires a lot of remodelling and soundproofing work, but in the end we will have nearly doubled our usable auditorium space. Many of the church members are helping out in different ways, and we won’t need to hire any outside labor. We hope to have the new auditorium completed by May of this year. Please pray that God will continue to provide funds for the work. It has been encouraging to see church members sacrifice financially in order to pay for the materials as soon as possible.

God has been at work in the youth group as well. Several of the young people are doing very well, and the Lord has brought a couple new young people to the church as well. A few of the young people are going through some serious spiritual struggles though. Antonio, a young man with a Christian mother but unsaved father, is a long time youth group member who has been drifting spiritually for several months now. Please pray that the Lord would help him to understand how unsatisfying a carnal life is. It is encouraging however to see spiritual growth in the lives of some of the other young people. I know God has big plans for them, and I just hope they grow spiritually enough for those plans to be realized!

We had 25 young people at our prayer rally yesterday! Praise the Lord for a great time together.

In my last letter I asked for prayer regarding God’s financial provision for Raquel’s and my wedding and future together. I am grateful to say that God has provided in great and mighty ways that I had never even imagined! Through sheer providence I was offered a job as an English teacher this semester. Two days after being contacted I was already teaching a full class schedule. This came about through a series of circumstances only God could have arranged, and it is so exciting to see Him adding His blessing to Raquel’s and my plans. Praise the Lord, I was also contacted by another church that decided to take us on as missionaries, and that is another way God has shown His provision.

If you would, continue to pray for Raquel and me, as there are still many decisions to be made. In my last letter I mentioned our plans to visit the US this summer to raise additional support. However, with this job opportunity we have decided to remain here on the field another year before going on deputation.  I believe God gave me this job to provide Raquel the chance to spend some time serving with me in the Irun ministry before we start travelling in the United States. We are praying for wisdom, and we ask you to add us to your prayers as often as you are able.

Thank you so much for your prayers for us!

Thank you so much for your prayer and support until now, and thank you for continuing to bring us before the Lord. It’s exciting to share what God is doing here with you all, and I trust you’ll glorify God with me for His faithfulness and wisdom.

God bless, David
