It is such a tragedy when I call myself a follower of Christ (a “disciple” or “student”) but neglect my study of the Word of God. When I lose my focus on the Bible, I just prove myself a liar, because that is the one criterion Jesus gave for discipleship. It is so common among Christians in general to breeze through our Christian walk, neglecting true, thoughtful, deep engagement with the Bible, and assume that we’re OK spiritually. If I’m not a student, I’m not a disciple. If I’m not a disciple, I’m a useless Christian. #John832 #disciple #study #student #WordofGod #engagement #discipline #dailywalk Es una tragedia cuando me llamo un seguidor de Cristo (un “discípulo” o “estudiante”) pero dejo a un lado mi estudio personal de la Palabra de Dios. Cuando pierdo el enfoque en la Biblia, me estoy demostrando ser mentiroso, porque el estudio de la Biblia es el único criterio que puso Dios para ser llamado un discípulo. Es tan común entre Cristianos pasar tranquilamente por nuestro camino espiritual, ignorando el estudio verdadero, profundo, e intencional de la Biblia, porque pensamos que “andamos bien” espiritualmente. Si no soy estudiante, entonces no soy discípulo. Si no soy discípulo, entonces soy un Cristiano inútil.
